DC World AIDS Day Rally

When: Friday, December 1st, 2:45 pm

Where: Lafayette Park, in front of the White House.

Join us for World AIDS Day in Washington, DC for a march and rally in front of the White House, featuring speakers from around the world. Tell Congress and President Bush:

No More Empty Promises on AIDS!
  • We demand a plan to train and retain health workers in Africa by funding $8 billion over the next 5 years.
  • We demand a plan to cut HIV infections in DC by funding needle exchange programs.
  • We demand a plan to reach universal access to AIDS drugs by funding the Global Fund and dropping the debt for all impoverished countries.
  • We demand a plan to reach universal access to AIDS drugs by changing international trade rules.
  • We MUST FULFILL PROMISES: develop a plan, fund the programs, and let the World get down to the work of ENDING AIDS.
Join activists from ACT-UP Philly, Africa Action, DC Fights Back, Global AIDS Alliance, Jubilee USA, University Coalitions for Global Health, and SGAC chapters from DC and the surrounding region to call on President Bush to keep his promises this World AIDS Day. Groups are already organizing transportation from New York, Philadelphia, and the Boston area.
